South Belgrave Lysterfield
Girls Football Program
In 2017 two junior football clubs, South Belgrave and Lysterfield Wolves united to establish an Australian rules football development program for females, now known as the SBL Wolves.
The SBL Wolves took the ground in 2017 with one inaugural side of 25 girls in under 12’s.
With a five-year development plan, SBL Wolves have now grown to 190 female footballers across 10 teams in the following girl's age groups: U/10, U/12, U/14, U/16, U/18 and a senior women's team.
The SBL Wolves program promotes a culture-first mentality with an emphasis on development, creating pathways for girls wanting to head towards their AFLW dreams and/or just enjoying a fun, family-friendly environment for a genuine football experience.
With a strong focus on developing the Under 10 and Under 12 girls’ teams in this and the coming years, the future of SBL Wolves is extremely exciting and bright.
The wolfpack, a group that are bound together by loyalty and respect of each other. Once in a wolfpack, you are truly devoted to your pack and will do anything and everything for them.
